Rhi Wing Chun Kung Fu – The 10-Level System: 

Our Wing Chun system follows a structured 10-level progression, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of both the traditional and practical aspects of Wing Chun. Each level builds upon the previous, refining technique, sensitivity, power, and adaptability.


Training includes:

  • Open-Hand Techniques – Core Wing Chun strikes, blocks, and hand manoeuvres.
  • Footwork – Efficient movement, positioning, and balance to enhance speed and control.
  • Attacks and Defences – Practical applications against various strikes and grappling scenarios.
  • Attacks and Defences Against Weapons – Defensive strategies against armed opponents.
  • Sil Lim Tao & Application – The foundational form, developing structure, energy, and precision.
  • Advanced Sil Lim Tao & Application – Deepening the understanding of structure, energy flow, and internal mechanics.
  • Chum Kil & Application – Developing mobility, coordination, and simultaneous attack and defence.
  • Bil Jee & Application – Emergency techniques, power generation, and targeting vital points.
  • Dan Chi Sao (Predetermined Chi Sao Drills) – Isolated sensitivity drills to develop control and reaction.
  • Advanced Chi Sao – Free-flowing sensitivity training to enhance reflexes and adaptability.
  • Chi Gerk (Leg Chi Sao) – Sensitivity training for lower-body defence and counterattacks.
  • Combat & Self-Defence Application – Real-world application of Wing Chun techniques in dynamic scenarios.
  • Muk Yan Jong (Wooden Dummy Training) – Refining technique, structure, and flow through traditional wooden dummy drills.
  • Rattan Ring Training – Developing forearm conditioning, structure, and controlled movement.
  • Butterfly Swords – Traditional dual-weapon training for close-quarters combat.
  • Dragon Pole – Long-range weapon training for strength, control, and technique.
  • Chin Na (Joint Locks & Control Techniques) – Grappling and joint manipulation techniques for control and defence.


This 10-level system provides a structured and comprehensive path, allowing students to develop practical skills while honouring the art’s rich history and philosophy.
